Welcome to The Linguist’s Notebook.
Language is a part of everything we do. It is complex, and robust, and filled with so much that unpacking even a single one–even one’s native language–can take a lifetime. Language is not just grammar; it’s people. It’s culture. It’s right and wrong and grey areas.
This site is dedicated to the exploration of language and the realities behind language use, many of which are often left unconsidered. Identity, culture, concept of others, values, religion–all of these and more are wrapped up in language, yet we usually don’t think about it. This site is here to explore all that.
